NEWS to share…

Really honored that my novel Elrod is a finalist in the Best Mystery category for the 2022 Claymore Award, sponsored by Killer Nashville. Set against the backdrop of the 1980 Farm Crisis which devastated farmers and ranchers across the Midwest, Elrod is the story of Elrod Pressley, who lives in the Flint Hills of Kansas with his mother and works a sprawling cattle ranch with his grandfather. Elrod’s life is upended when his mother is brutally murdered. Elrod’s twisting destiny leads him to Los Angeles and back as he struggles to establish his identity and a place called home.

Burke is an American treasurer, a multiple New York Times bestselling author, most noted for his Dave Robicheaux series of novels and his Holland family saga series. The event was sponsored by Rocky Mountain Chapter Mystery Writers of America and co-sponsored by Rocky Mountain Fiction and Sisters in Crime Colorado Chapter. The interview was recorded and will soon be available on YouTube. Check back for details.

In May, 2022, author Mark Stevens interviewed me on the Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers podcast. If you’re interested, toggle over to my “News” page and the link to the interview.

My book THE BIG WEIRD: HAIKUS IN TIMES OF PANDEMIC AND CHAOS debuted on Amazon on Dec. 22, 2020 as the “#1 new release in contemporary poetry.” The book is a collection of short, hot, haiku poetry about my observations of the pandemic and the chaos that ensued around the country in 2020.

In a recent issue of WRITE2THRILL, I had the opportunity to interview New York Times bestselling author Lisa Gardner and award-winning author Daniel Palmer and how they, and others, are volunteering their time to help debut thriller authors. Guess what? They’re nice people, too!
